ROFUS (Register of Voluntarily Excluded Players) was established in 2012 by the Danish Gambling Authority (Spillemyndigheden) as part of Denmark's partial liberalisation of the gambling market.[1]
What is ROFUS and how it works
Spillemyndigheden Registering with ROFUS excludes a person from all online gambling, land-based casinos, and onsite betting in shops across Denmark.
How ROFUS helps gamblers
ROFUS blocks access to all online gambling (betting, poker, roulette, slots) offered by Danish-licensed operators, all land-based casinos, and - for registrations from 1 October 2023 — physical betting retailers. When a registered person attempts to log in or open a new account, the operator sees the ROFUS flag and must deny access.
Registered users are also automatically enrolled in a "No thank you to marketing" arrangement, blocking all direct gambling advertising from licensed operators.[2]
What you need for registration with ROFUS
Registration requires a MitID (Denmark's national digital identity). Without MitID, form no. 9-01 can be submitted via the Danish Gambling Authority's contact form or by post to: Spillemyndigheden, Lerchesgade 35, 6, 5000 Odense C, Denmark.[3]
Registration is personal - a person can only register themselves.
