Spelpaus is Sweden's national, centralized self-exclusion register for gambling.
What is Spelpaus and how it works
Spelpaus is Sweden's national self-exclusion register, launched on 1 January 2019 by the Swedish Gambling Authority (Spelinspektionen). It is a free service. Self-exclusion covers all gambling companies licensed in Sweden.[1]
How Spelpaus helps gamblers
Registered users are automatically blocked from all licensed operators offering betting, online casinos, lotteries and physical slot machines. Operators are legally obliged to respect the block and cannot send marketing materials or allow account access.
What you need for registration with Spelpaus
Users need their Swedish personal identity number (personnummer) and must select an exclusion period. Identity is verified via BankID, Mobile BankID, or Freja eID+.[2]

How to remove Spelpaus self-exclusion
Step 1. Check if your self-exclusion period is over
A self-exclusion for 1, 3 or 6 months ends automatically at the end of the period. If you chose to exclude yourself until you decide otherwise, you cannot end it until 12 months have passed.
Step 2. Contact Spelpaus to make the cancellation request
For indefinite exclusions only: submit a removal request via spelpaus.se after the 12-month minimum has elapsed.
Step 3. Cooling-off period
No statutory cooling-off period applies to fixed-term exclusions.
Step 4. Cancellation
You cannot cancel or end an ongoing self-exclusion. However, you can extend it at any time.
