Adferiad Recovery is a Welsh member-led charity providing services for people affected by mental ill health, substance use, gambling harms and other complex needs. It is a registered charity (Charity No: 1039386), operating primarily across Wales and Lancashire.[1][2]
What is Adferiad Recovery
The organisation describes itself as rights-affirming, placing service users' rights at the core of everything it does. It operates a bilingual (English and Welsh) model across Wales and is registered with the Fundraising Regulator.
Role in the Industry
Adferiad occupies a significant position in Welsh addiction and mental health services, operating under a unified "no wrong door" philosophy. Rather than treating co-occurring gambling and other addictions as separate problems, the organisation addresses them simultaneously. Its gambling services are funded in part by GambleAware and form part of the National Gambling Support Network, reflecting a nationally recognised role in harm reduction across Wales.
History and Reach
Adferiad has more than 50 years of combined history across its founding organisations.[3]
